Forgotten Things(colour)
(January 2004; drawn and painted in Painter Classic) This is actually the painted product of what started as a random scribble in Painter Classic. I scribbled the sword in black and white line art using the scratchboard tool, and once I'd finished it I realized there was something more this sword had to say, so I kept scribbling, and the black and white version of this piece was born (you can see the black and white version here if you like). Being so colour-oriented, I decided to paint this almost as soon as I'd finished the black and white version, but I like both versions so much I'm displaying them both here (I don't usually display the inked black and white pre-painted versions of my art because I consider them to simply be an incomplete stage along the way to a finished product; this one, however, worked very well both ways). As for what this painting is about...I'm not really sure. The sword definitely had more to say, but I can't say I'm entirely sure what it turns out to be. ;-) I get the sense of a battle fought long ago, a battle in which there was much sacrifice, but a battle that has been long forgotten.
