Gloomy(anime)
(Spring 2001; drawn and coloured in Paint Shop Pro) I was a bit bored in my Biology lecture one day, so I decided to doodle around the idea of making anime characters out of my cats. Based on those scribbles in my Biology note margins, this anime was born. This is Gloomy. No, he doesn't look much like his name (save for his colour); when he was a kitten, he was shy and timid and generally melancholy, so the name fit. His brother, Sunny, was the outgoing, playful one; they got their names partially based on coat colour and partially on personality--unfortunately, the personality part has reversed itself. Today, he's an all-out extroverted flirt of a cat who put the 'oooooooohhhhhhh' in 'cute' :-). I swear he's taken classes in "How to be maddeningly adorable, even after and especially while getting into trouble." He's a darling kitty, a petite little runt, and the Devil incarnate:-). This was just a quick low-res doodle, but I have in mind at some point to do a hi-res version with a lot more development in details (and an actual background). If you'd like to see pictures of the real Gloomy, you can view them here. Back to Digitally Painted Art |
