Ibis
(June 1998; Generic coloured pencil with inked lines) This is a hand-drawn version of my comic character, Ibis (not to be confused with the Egyptian goddess Isis), who is also here in 3D form in my 3D Rendered Art gallery (though she began as a much earlier hand drawing somewhere in 1996, I think). Click here for the 3D version. She was born in Egypt to a modern, middle-class Egyptian family. As she grew, however, she began to reflect her normal origin less and less. She began to sprout wings around age thirteen, and with the wings came higher stamina, higher resistence to infection and disease, and quicker healing of wounds. She also began to have memories she could not account for--memories of a bygone era ruled by gods and godlike Pharaohs. She is the resurrection of the spirit of ancient Egypt, and her mission is to revive the gods, who have been in a long and deep sleep under the very sands of the Sahara. Back to Scanned Art |
