Please note that all the prices listed on this page are estimates unless otherwise noted and do not necessarily reflect an actual price for your prospective project. I provide these sample rates to give you a better idea of my price range so you can decide if my services fit your budget, but due to the nature of the work, which can vary drastically from project to project, I cannot give an exact one-size-fits-all price.

I also reserve the right to turn down your project for any reason (which will likely only happen if I'm currently too booked with other projects or if I don't believe I can satisfactority complete the project).
Writing:
I am available for freelance articles, essays, web content, fiction, and a variety of other writing needs. My freelance writing rate is roughly 5 cents per word in most cases. In cases requiring extensive legwork on my end, such as requiring me to research something in order to do the writing, it can be more (it's best to be able to provide me with all the information required for your project; this may not be possible in the case of some essays and articles, however). I also do not provide ghostwriting services.

Art:
I do accept artwork commissions, for anything from personal role playing characters to story illustrations to customizable card games to just about anything in between. It's very difficult to give a basic rate on this sort of thing because paintings can vary greatly in size, complexity, style, and many other factors, so I'll base my sample rate on a standard size and average complexity, and you can place your project from there.
For a painting that is 8" x 10" at 300 dpi (2400 x 3000 pixels), depicting one subject in the foreground and including a basic scenic background, a good estimate would be $250. A simpler background (such as a portrait wash) would result in a lower price, while a more complex background or additional subjects would increase the price (a good rule of thumb would be expect an additional $50-$75 per subject, or expect about a $50 deduction for a simpler background). I will also charge less if you request elements or subjects that I feel I'm less accomplished at painting--I can't in good conscience charge the same price for what I know I'm good at as well as for what I don't feel I'm as good at.

Please note that my work is painted digitally and as such does not result in a physical original. Purchasing an art commission from me entitles you to a high-resolution digital file on CD that you can make prints from (restrictions may apply), as well as one physical print of the image at your specified size; these arrangements are negotiable and we can work out your project's arrangements based on your specific needs.
An average painting will take me 20-30 hours to complete, but as I can't guarantee many of those hours will be consecutive due to other pending projects, allow at least 60 days for completion of your project. If you have a rush project, be sure to note that in your quote request; depending on how short the time till deadline is, there may be an additional charge.
I will not accept commissions of a pornographic nature. Artistic nudity is fine, but please don't bother querying about comissions requiring explicitely exposed genitalia, explicit sexual acts, or anything that would require beyond an R rating.
Design:
I'm open to freelance commissions for various types of design work, primarily for the web (such as banners and logos, fo r instance). Unless otherwise specified, however, I create everything with printing in mind as well as with screen display in mind, so my logos and other design work are suitable not only for web use, but for print use as well (business cards, letter head, product labelling, etc.). Keep in mind, however, that I don't do vector art, though I do create logos at very high resolutions so that they can be sized to fit virtually any printing need.
It's very difficult to give a general price range on this because it can encompass a great many things. A standard sized web banner would be priced around $100 (with or without animation, unless the animation is complex), while a logo would tend to start around $100 for a simple single-colour logo, advancing to around $300 for a more complex full-colour logo. Other types of design may vary, so query me with your design needs and I can give you a quote for your specific project.
I also do web design, but on a more limited basis. I don't do any back-end coding such as CGI or ASP--only HTML and CSS; I also don't do Flash, JavaScript, or PHP. Since web design is a bit of a frustration for me (mostly in implementation--I code all HTML and CSS by hand, including tables used for complex layouts), I'm somewhat more selective about which projects I choose to accept than I am with my other freelance services. I am open to queries however, if you like my sample we b designs and think I would be a good fit to design or redesign your website. My basic rate is $25 per hour
I can also pair webdesign with web content writing, if you not only need design work but writing work as well; the total price for such a project would be at a slight discount from the bare total of my basic web content prices and my basic web design prices.
